Hold on, passports at the ready… GCC boldly goes, er, a couple of stops on the DLR. Still, at least this month’s meeting place isn’t an SE postcode. Get a taste of Memsaheb (65-67, Amsterdam Road, E14 SUU) at 8pm, Wednesday 13 October. Warm-up in The George by Crossharbour Station. Oh dear, I forgot my visa.

Get a Taste of Raj (9 Royal Parade, Blackheath Village, SE3 0TL) at 8pm, Tuesday 21 September with your fun-loving curry friends. Meet in the Hare and Billet pub from 7pm. Numbers strictly limited to how many we can fit into the curry house. Or how many turn up.
Meeting (April 2010)
And so after much hand-wringing and talk of wild adventures to venues across the river (‘head East young man!’) the GCC has settled for the safety of home (‘There’s no place like home, eh Dorothy?) And so the Taste of India (43 Greenwich Church St, Greenwich, SE10 9BL) gets the nod on Wednesday 21st April.
Meeting (March 2010)
This month’s chief organiser Antoine, our French curry lover, declares Monday 15 March as the date of the next meeting. Venue: Mountain View, Blackheath (1-3 Lee Road, SE3 9RQ) at 8pm. Pre-drinks in the Railway (16 Blackheath Village SE3 9LE) from 6.30pm. New curry lovers welcome. We don’t bite (except the lamb).
Meeting (February 2010)
In a dramatic twist the GCC has swapped its night from Monday to Tuesday (for February at least). Meeting planned for Tuesday 16 February. Venue: Taste of India (43 Greenwich Church Street, Greenwich). Meet in Spanish Galleon from 7pm for warm-up.
Classic photo (No 1)
Dear oh dear. Now the GCC eaters have taken to posing with the staff (here at the Gurkha Inn). The GCC are the two with big grins on their faces. But what, we must ask have they done to upset the staff at this lovely restaurant? And why has management sent the Enforcer (the guy at the back) to ensure everything ran smoothly in the photo. We don’t want to upset him.
“Boys,” he’ll say.
“If the photo’s not good enough then it’s one of those lentil dishes for you lot next time.”
Smile, boys, smile.
Extraordinary meeting (February 2010)
A special meeting of the wandering members of the GCC has been called for early February in sunny Benidorm. A nice curry is a well-known traditional Spanish dish and has been every since the British invaded the country in the 1960s. India Gate, near the Old Town and Nawaab (Calle Ibiza) are on the short list.
Meeting (January 2010)
The first meeting of the New Year is on 18 January at the Kerala Zone (119 Trafalgar Road, Greenwich). Meet for beers in Hardy’s pub at 7.30pm to clean the palate.
